With the hot weather rolling through southern BC, winter sports probably aren’t the first thing on your mind. Even so, now is the time to start planning ahead for this upcoming snowmobile season!
(Ok who am I kidding….we’re always dreaming about snow here at Grizzly Lodge)
A few of our staff members are off to Vancouver this week to update their Wilderness First Aid and I thought this might be a good opportunity to remind our clients that these courses aren’t just for guides and “serious outdoorsmen”! It is so important to learn these skills, not only for your own safety but for the safety of the group you’re riding with. Finding yourself with an injured group member and many kilometers between you and civilization is a very real and scary experience. Who can you contact? And how? Can the injured person be transported safely? How will you manage the injury until help comes?
If you’re interested in learning more about Wilderness First Aid courses, we recommend Slipstream Wilderness First Aid. Your life is worth the investment!
